Vagus nerve: the vagus nerve is the tenth cranial nerve and serves a sympathetic and a parasympathetic function in control of the heart, lungs, and digestive tract.

The vagus nerve is the longest nerve of the autonomic nervous system in the human body.

Overview

The Vagus nerve is direct-wired to the brain and serves a radar function as the brains primary connection to what is going on in many critical parts of the body and specifically immune system related issues.

The intestinal mucosa reports directly to the brain.
