Occult/latent: hidden, not-active, dormant, latent, not visible, below medical radar; non detectable by conventional medical lab tests.

Biologically speaking, when something is in occult form or occult status, it is in a state that has any some of all of the above mentioned characteristics.

Occult particularly applies to dis-eases and dis-ease conditions, but can also apply to individual micro-organisms whether bacterial, fungal or viral.

Latency is related to occult status because pleomorphic organisms in latency are occult because they are in dormant, non-active form, non-visible form that is below medical [and laboratory radar.
