Myco: refers to fungal molds and yeasts; distinctly DIFFERENT than bacteria.

In the life sciences, terms beginning with myco refer to organisms and medical conditions of fungal presence and symptoms [sepsis, tuberculosis, etc.; organisms referred to as mycobacteria, mycoplasma and the toxins they make and release, mycotoxins.
