RDA: a government sponsored metric of the amount of a essential nutrient or element required to avoid manifestation of a condition of disease.

Overview

RDA stands for Recommended Daily Allowance.  RDA is a sham because the metric has absolutely NOTHING to do with maintenance of peak health and the ability to repair and regenerate.

Sadly, anyone who bases their life on RDA will pay the price in poor health and premature aging and, ultimately, death.

For example, RDAfor iodine provides just enough iodine to avoid the symptom known as, goiter.  RDA does not promote peak health of the thyroid gland; nor does it address maintenance of the vital organs depending on a daily supply of iodine ions.

By definition, anything essential for maintenance of health, such as most vitamins, that the body cannon make on its own, such as Vitamin-C is considered to be essential and falls under the umbrella of RDA.
