Diuretic: any substance that promotes diuresis [increased production of urine and reduction of tissue fluids]. There are several categories of diuretics all of them increase the excretion of excess tissue fluid [water] from the body.

Diuretics are notorious for causing loss of elemental mineral ions and particularly, potassium from cells.  Emergency room use of diuretics is very different than ongoing use  [and misuse] of drugs to band-aid a serious metabolic issue.

Retention of acidic waste in the  body results is urine pH in the 6s, 5s or 4s.  Build-up of WASTE in the tissues causes retention of fluid [edema] which is made worse by depletion of essential ions in both extracellular and intercellular fluids.

Use of medications by patients and practitioners is a dead-end street with detrimental effects. Physicians resort to diuretics as a quick fix without knowledge or concern of long-term implications.

Diuretics alter the electrical charge of inside of cell membranes which allows the invasion of sodium ions into cells and loss of potassium ions with loss of the electrical charge that protects cell integrity.

Invasion of excess sodium across cell membranes is a MNORBID condition because sodium kills mitochondrial production of cellular ATP, cripples the Krebs Cycle and limits non-thermal burning of hydrogen.  Hydrogen is the body’s PRIMARY energy source.  ATP only powers the cells; ATP is not the body’s source of energy.

The electron transport chain is where hydrogen is non-thermally burned for energy.  Toxic, acid-filled bodies hold excess tissue fluids.  Acidification of the body’s terrain girdles aerobic respiration and glycolysis.

Avoid diuretics and ask for guidance..
