Ion: is the active elemental form of a substance [an element looking to react and bond or share electrons with another element], as opposed to an inactive elemental form whose electrical valence is complete, and where no activity is available.

Overview

A magnesium ion is biologically ACTIVE and ready to chemically produce a reaction in the body.  Magnesium that is not in ionic form and without ionic boron present, has limited benefit for the body because it is NOT in active, ionic form.

Magnesium compounds such as magnesium citrate, malate, taurate, etc. are far less active and less effective in the body because they must be converted into their ionic (ACTIVE) form before they can provide chemical activity and benefit.

Chemically: an ion is an atom or a molecule where the total number of electrons is unequal to the total number of protons, giving the atom or molecule a net positive or negative electrical charge. The process by which ions are created is called, ionization.

More: if a neutral atom loses one or more electrons, it has a net positive charge (+) and is known as a cation.  If an atom gains electrons, it has a net negative charge (-) and is known as an anion.

Because of their electric charges, cations and anions attract each other and readily form ionic compounds, such as salts.

For example, sodium chloride [table salt] is an ionic compound composed of an acidic halogen gas [chlorine] and an alkaline earth element [sodium].

A ‘salt’ is a crystalline compound, and there are many different salt forms, that involve sodium, such as sodium fluoride, potassium-fluoride sodium chloride, potassium-iodide, etc.

When a salt [the solute] is dissolved in water [a solvent], you get a mixture of the two ingredients [a solution].

R/MgO Spray is a charged, ionic form of magnesium chloride with ionic boron [for absorption].  The energy footprint of R/MgO Spray is 10/10; meaning, it’ potential for biological activity is fully available for the benefit of the organism consuming it, be it by skin application or taken orally.
