Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura [ITP]: a type of thrombocytopenic purpura defined as an isolated low platelet count with a normal bone marrow in the absence of other causes of low platelets. The term idiopathic is used when the cause is idiopathic [unknown].

Thrombocytopenic purpura are purpura associated with a reduction in circulating blood platelets. Purpura is a condition of red or purple discolored spots on the skin that do not blanch on applying pressure. The spots are caused by bleeding underneath the skin secondary to platelet disorders, vascular disorders, coagulation disorders, or other causes.

ITP is an autoimmune condition where the immune system OVERREACTS often as a result of introduction of inoculants and adjuvants contained in vaccinations.

A type of thrombosis seen with fevers and epidemic-like dis-eases; purpura are common to pneumonia, tuberculosis and sepsis.
