Cytokine storm: an out of control immune system response where the body goes into hyperdrive and total collapse of immune function.

Overview

CYTOKINE STORM:  you will not receive notice that a major infection and cytokine storm is coming.  They occur when your terrain and immune system are severely compromised and your body is under SEVERE stress.  For example, following surgery, accidents and major emotional traumas.  The way to avoid them is to keep your immune system and terrain in peak condition.

A cytokine storm is no laughing matter!  It’s a LIFE AND DEATH struggle.  Often, doctor has no choice but to use powerful antibiotics BEFORE confirmation of the type of infection can even be ascertained.  Risk associated with C-diff and MRSA type infections and cytokine storms is EXTREME!

Use of antibiotics for anything less than life threatening illness sets the stage for outbreak of major infection because of bacterial resistance from using antibiotics and the accumulation of glyphosate in the body.  Major intestinal infections don’t just happen; they are TERRAIN issues.

Sepsis is as bad as infection can get!  It is the FINAL STAGE of gross, systemic takeover by fungal yeast and TOTAL COLLAPSE of the immune system!  Sepsis is often described as blood poisoning, but it is way more than that.

Cytokine storms and sepsis are birds-of-a-feather.  Doctors dread sepsis because once it initiates, your odds of survival, without divine intervention, are ZERO!

Incubation times for lab analysis of major infections is typically, 1-3 days.  It is common for patients to die of sepsis while waiting for lab results.  [Prudence demands patients UNDERSTAND how their bodies work, so they can AVOID life-threatening situations and FULLY RECOVER when they do occur.

A PERSONAL STORY: In 2006, John Thomas injured himself [he suffered a wound to his finger in the garden After one week of incubation with no signs or symptoms, suddenly, swelling and a firecracker-red finger, that within hours expressed as solid red half way up my forearm.  My hand was huge, and throbbing!  Surgery was required to relieve the pressure so the blood supply to my hand could be maintained; otherwise, bye, bye hand!  I had sepsis and nearly, died.  Doctor told me later, he expected me to die within hours.  I am here to tell you that Infections do not send announcements, and YOU NEVER SEE THEM COMING!  My story could have been AVOIDED had I known what I know, now.  Note: the issue with any major medical event is not survival, but ability to recover and resurrect, and I did!  A DIFFERENT CRISIS struck in 2012 with another near-death experience! [You can read about it here.]  I fully recovered from both events and am now age, 74.  Survival is not always to be wished for, but total recovery is as-good-as-it-gets and serves as proof that the condition of your terrain and immune system makes the difference in times of crisis.  Everyone is vulnerable to infection if the conditions are just right.  Survival is a terrain and immune system, gig.  Recovery is either the grace of God or dumb luck.

Emergency medicine [and doctors that practice it] does its best under challenging circumstances, and it’s the PATIENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to be prepared.  How you live your life BEFORE a major crisis strikes determines the outcome.  Word to the wise!
