Metabolism: the term used to describe the general set of life-sustaining chemical transformations that take place within the cells of living organisms.

Physiology: refers to the workings of all body systems, organs and structures involved in metabolism.

Overview

The grand summary of all biological actions and reactions of the bio-electric body including conversion of food to energy and movement of waste, production of the ATP energy molecule within the Kreb’s Cycle (Citric Acid Cycle) of the mitochondria in the cells.

Metabolism involves the manipulation of and transformation of energy.

Life is generally defined on the physical level, but mind and spirit also play a part. The higher your metabolism, the more energy you have and the faster you produce and consume energy. Health and illness are states of and the products of good or bad metabolism.
